Hi folks. To those that have enjoyed my updated modern engine bolt on peripherals such as compact/light gear reduction starters, reliable high output alternators, and serpentine drive A/C compressor bracket kits, I want to say thank you. I probably don't say that enough. Each and every one of you have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and I have even made some personal friends through it. Locomotive engineers send pics of blown engines with rods hanging out of the block on their EMD's, museum level restoration folks who are able to buy the nth detail typically not available, Catfish in Florida who calls me daily on my drive into work and doesn't hang up until he has me laughing so hard my stomach hurts, the list goes on. People call me with lots of money, people call me with no money, we all want to have fun and make it happen regardless. A lot of fun stuff out there. I wish I could live 5 times and do it all. I never thought I was as small as I really am until I saw all the cool stuff you are all into.
Just a quick note that I am currently working on an alternator conversion bracket which will allow easily obtained common civilian alternators to bolt onto the stock military alternator mount. This will have wide applicability, covering nearly all MV's, and will be available both independent and combo'd up with my alternator sales. It will also have adjustable fore-aft positioning, to solve the necessity of retention and modification of the stock deep-dish alternator pulley found on engines such as the NHC-250 and others. This bracket should work with 2.5 tons, 5 tons, HET's, and Humvee's, of all generations, and more. It will work for both V belt and serpentine drive systems equally. The civilian 8.3 bracket is nearly $100. This will be significantly less. Some have used spacers and longer bolts, and that may work, but it is not really supporting the rear of the alternator well. This bracket will improve that.
If you ever need any of the items I sell, just reach out and say hello, I'm too lazy to renew the classifieds and really only use it to announce new product releases. I may be looking for a few volunteers to check and confirm the first run bracket on their vehicles. If you have an alternator change happening in the relatively near future, I'd be happy to work something out with you in exchange for your time and feedback on it including photos.
