Noticed on my nvoice for a trailer, no engine, that a diesel tax was applied.
It was less than $4 but still.

Called GP CS and asked why.
She told me that if it has an engine and anything to do with emissions that the tax is added.

I told her that it is a trailer
No engine
No emissions.

She put me on hold. Came back 4 minutes later and said that they would refund it.
Refund status on account page also reflects it.
Of course it shouldn't have been tacked on in the first place.

Just FYI

So bought another trailer today
Sure enough, Diesel Tax added to invoice on a no engine equipped TRAILER!!

Now I have to spend my time contacting them again and auguring about it AGAIN!!

Seriously GP?!?!
Can you not get this straight??!!

Apparently a trailer with a Diesel engine. LOL
Now if they will let me load up an engine when I pick it up, then I will be happy to pay the tax!!

Well they are at least getting quicker.
Emailed GP CS last night.
Received reply last night

$$ refunded this morning.

Of course they still shouldn't have included the diesel tax to begin with.

Good to hear.

You still haven't told us what you bought, besides it's a diesel trailer.
We want pics.

What a a terrific business plan though (I mean you know, if you're naturally crooked):

- Most people either don't notice it; or being a minor add-on, choose to ignore it

And then that revenue goes straight to profit. Diabolically clever of the crooks (um, you know: intentional or unintentional).

And you know what? Maybe I'm wrong:

- Maybe GP collects all the revenue collected in this fashion, and then pays it directly to the U.S Treasury with a proviso to help off-set the national debt.

Do you think that's it?!

Nothing special at all
Just a M101A2
With no wheels, lousy wood, 4 bows instead of 5, no cover.

But no rust and no damage.
And is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

I did pick up a S-280 shelter today from local GSA auction.
I actually used my M989A1 for something!!!

Perhaps you should buy an M416 or M 101 , ( were pulled by gas powered trucks mostly, four bangers , could be cheaper !

When you posted this, I was thinking you got that m101 out of hooks :)

How does that m923 pull that m989a1 ?
I haven't hooked up to or pulled mine with it yet.

Pulls great!! Hills let you know it's back there.
You just have to watch how sharp you turn or you will make contact. Either the tongue stop or the truck itself.
Forget about backing up! Always leave a LOT of room to turn the beast train around.
The M101A2 is from hooks. Recover next week.

At least GSA doesn't have a buyers fee or diesel tax!!!
