Mile Marker Winch Brackets Help

I have acquired some nice new mile marker winch brackets (the ones that go from the frame to the shackle mounts on the winch) but the brackets do not line up with the existing shackle bolt locations. They are a couple inches off and the brackets won't even make it to the shackle holes because the bracket itself is too thick to squeeze in front of the winch.
Also my winch doesn't seem to have the two sets of shackle mounting holes if that makes any difference?

are they backwards, rotated, upside down, for another vehicle?

Is there a part number stamped on them?

Did you look at the TM to look at exploded view?

Just a few questions.

That being said... I NEED A SET. What was your source?

Best,

T

Tried them all sorts of directions, none work.

NSN matches up to the TMs

My thinking is that either I need different mounting holes, or these are for a different winch.

Got them from Kascar, and they said they were for a mile marker winch.

If they attatch to the winch AND fit the winch properly, maybe you wanna cut some holes?

MHO.

Old timers and such on this BB should be a source... If a search doesn't give you info, why not PM vendors here?

Best,

T

You might have a rear winch on a front plate.
Looks like one beltfed34 sold on fleebay.
Others on google search show more holes.

Correct way is with the solid lip to the top like the pic with your finger. It will not clear with the solid lip towards ground. Don't ask me how i know :-(

My winch mount had 2 sets of holes drilled in the front. One set lined up ok to mount shackles. I am thinking you have a later mount and just need to drill 2 holes. In my build thread is a pic showing the 4 holes on the front. Juan's M998

Not sure what the other 2 holes are used for, maybe a2 models?

See pictures of the brackets that came in the Mile Marker kit. This is out of the Military kit.

Yep thats exactly my brackets. Looks like I just need to drill the new holes.

Don't think a drill will fit behind the winch when on the vehicle... Anyone know the exact location for the other set of holes? Or the distance from the existing holes to the new ones?

The Civilian MM winch plates holes are in a different location then the military MM winch plate.
been there, done that....i had a really nice MM winch plate with metal instruction plate riveted on another in the NOS box that had no instruction plate....I decided to use the one with the plate, well...holes wouldn't line up, so I decided to check the other one in the box without the plate, bracket holes lined right up. The correct MM brackets have the part number stamped into the bracket, all the sets I have and ever had do....
I have also seen a bracket that looks identical and the holes were also in a slightly different position, but that bracket did. It have a part number stamped into it.
