M416a1 Surge Brake Reservoir Cap

Okay, Thanks. Tried that, so it must be frozen. I was afraid to force it.

***UPDATE*** It was no match for a torch, pipe wrench, and a steel tube for torque! Needless to say, i need a new cap. I'll be getting the one with a hex fitting on top.

NOS ones are $20 and includes o-ring.

Mine was smashed almost flat and kinda molded to the cylinder. Did not come off easily.

That's the upgrade vent cap. The hex plug requires a large tubing loop overhanging the surge brake reservoir as a vent. Everyone of those versions I've seen are smashed flat. The mushroom cap vent works great, just make sure you have the OEM "O" ring.

The m416a1 TM shows both the cap pictured above as well as a short cap with the hex fitting (no tube). Both my a1s had the hex style, while both of my NOS m416a1 surge brake assemblies have the mushroom cap. The version with the tube that SLOrazorsedge mentioned is also a direct swap since the surge brake internals are all the same between m101a2/a3 brakes and the m416a1.
