M35A2 bumper extension brackets

OK there is something wrong at this site concerning uploading pictures. I just tried to upload 10 pictures and only 6 came through. They all did the same thing, hit the upload button wait about 5 minutes and then the picture appears. Except in the case of the last four nothing appeared !
Well here are "some" of my pictures of how I made my frame extensions for my M35A2C. I cut off the ends of one of my 1954 M35's (I'm parting it out) and then had two 16" pieces of 1/4" plate "rolled" bent to fit actually inside the frame channel. Then I cut a 16" long piece of 1/4" X 6" to act as a backing plate on the outside of the frame. This way the extension pieces (8.25") would be "sandwiched" between the two 16" long pieces.

Thanks Rusty . Guys like you and others on SS have helped me a lot with all the knowledge on here . Another guy who helped me was Peashooter . Bought his brake lines and reverse light switch . I have also swiched my truck turn signal flasher to the one on here . Now I'm working on the hood installing lifting struts . Have a brand new (NOS) cab in my garage . Seriously , a brand new cab that was still on the skid with all the mounting hardware . Got it from a guy in Wisconsin , $750 . Cold outside so I'm going to mount a hood on it and do it in my one car garage . I usually do all my work in the driveway or back yard . Painted my truck in the back yard . I will keep you posted and take pictures .

The extensions I made are 13 1/2 inches long . Same as on a winch truck just not stacked to raise the bumper height . The approach angle is no big deal for me . I have 46 inch Goodyears on my truck . Besides I'm not taking this truck off road to play . I know what these trucks will do . I was in the Marine Corps for 4 years . Just going to drive Jeffery and enjoy this piece of military history . Also not going to destroy it by bobbing it . Six wheels go where 4 wish they could go .lol . Still have a long way to go to finish Jeffery the way I want . Here is a picture from last year . My dog Buster is a big fan of our president .

Never seen one like that before. If they're not sold commercially you might be able to make some cash selling them.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the heater box retrofit. I love all the extra space mine gives me.

Here's a few pictures of the heater box mod.

I used a piece with a "I" style cross brace from a semi, and then overlapped it onto the deuce frame. I flipped the pumper for winch cable rollers, it pushed it out about a foot so I could get the winch bolted between the bottom bumper flange and the "I" beam. the gap between that and the radiator is just the right size for a suitcase size generator. I've since put a storage box there, (Blew the generator out doing something dumb), and mounted a light on grill bars so the winch is lit up at night. the extension also opened up the sides between the bumper ends and fenders so I could get another box for the winch batteries on one side and a platform for fuel cans on the other. my only concern, and I plan on doing overlap plates and maybe diagonal cross braces, is that an off angle pull will want to rip the bolts out. I don't feel the 5 grade 8 bolts on each side, one top and bottom with 3 in the vertical web area. I still used all the stock bumper support plates and chain loops.

Could you post some pictures of that bumper ?
