no that is not even close!! i am pretty sure it takes something close to a 9 tooth pinion. the yanmar engine does not have a yanmar flywheel housing or flywheel or starter. it has am adapter for the generator that is not yanmar. the engines were supplied with only crank end open. so need to actually find someone with one to get numbers.
thanks for the try, i have been looking for a week and cannot even find a parts manual for this generator. it does not use a yanmar starter.

The starter for a MEP-1030 5kw, and MEP-1040 10kw is nsn 6110015958949 cage 44940 p/n 11.131.457 STARTER, MOTOR, 24 VOLT.
They talk about using a lot of the same system to design the AMMPS units. The starter then again could be the same for the MEP-1050.

OK, I just looked it up, and it comes up showing the same starter for "Starter motor 24v, 5/10/15kw"
p/n 0191-2382 cummins power
p/n 04-20148 cummins power, and DOD
p/n 11.131.457 mahle letrika d.o.o.
p/n 11.131.457 cummins power

It says CENTRAL DIESEL, INC., 4600 DEEPWATER TERMINAL RD, RICHMOND, VA, 23234-2211 just got a contract for 45 units on 7/11/16, delivery 11/7/16. They might be a source.

OK, That's a great start, now I need to cross that to something in the civ world and find it in 12 volt! Any ideas? None of those numbers mean anything to me.

did you know there IS an hour meter? hidden inside under the back of the convenience outlet. i also wonder if all the wiring harness are the same for this series of generators. do you have a parts book?

Looking for a picture of the the engine serial number plate for an MEP1030. hoping it shows the engine model. Any interest in a 12 volt starter for them? We are thinking of developing one
