sounds like if one was to get this one....... the new owner would be better off getting the dash plate and matching paperwork from another truck being scrapped..... IMHO it will be a nightmare to title it with no manufacture date.
Thats what I was wondering, good point. Ill stay away from, those..

So I was able to window shop today at the auction yard.... Saw some of the LMTV's that have been auctioned off.
Saw some things I have not seen before so I thought I would share.
Above the front grill they have a device that looks like a tracking device that the military must use to track vehicles?
Also saw the carnage of a driveshaft and yoke explosion, pretty unbelievable that this thick of metal failed.... KIDS!!
Mounted to the side of the battery box was another box I haven't seen on the internet. The Nato slave port is coming out of it which in pics I see just on an L bracket, wonder why the big box around it?
And saw a switch (red) with a plug left of the steering column... Must of operated some accessory...
Just interesting, thought I would share...

Im' still looking for mine but got a great taste of LMTV today....

Couple of Questions:
- Am I correct that the LMTV switched from the 3116 in 1998 to the 3126 in 1999 with a Heui pump? If I am right the 'A' at the end of the model number changed the same year.
- Is there a better year of LMTV to get than others? Looks like anything after 2000 is the same with the expiation of the upgraded grill I see from time to time.
Thank you

Cant wait to see you get a truck and start your build! Im down here in lacey as well.

While I have little to no mechanical knowledge of the lmtv/mtv series I grow interested more everyday.

Not sure what that little thing on the nose is on that truck.

I looked it up and it has something to do with communications, like a radio or something.... misc stuff anyway..
Figures when my wife signs off on the purchase and I am ready to pull the trigger COVID19 hits the US...
Nothing up for sale locally for a while now on GovP, and I am not going to pay to have one shipped to me.....
Watching for one every day on GovP....

Thank you for the welcome.
I live South of Seattle near Tacoma.

BELOW I am going to create 2 sections for my research - PARTS & IDEAS FOR CAMPER & PARTS & IDEAS FOR LMTV.
As I do my research for things I want to do or upgrade I will be placing them here, should get updated frequently:

PARTS & IDEAS FOR CAMPER
As I mentally gather parts the first thing I know I want is to run the heater and hot water heater via diesel.
I Like this guys setup:

The frame will be 6061 Aluminum with a mixture of 2x2 and 2x4 ¼ wall tubing.

The outer skin will be 6061 4x8 14 gauge sheets.

This also looks like a good option for the structure. They also has a good heater setup offering: https://totalcomposites.com/contact/

These guys make an articulating subframe for the camper so it won't get torn apart while going down a trail: http://www.itb.ca/interior_finishing.aspx

Toilet wise I like the cassette setup: https://pantherrvproducts.com/thetf..._6fezH1iVBwajqoNvvfutIIT1QCUAe9IaAq5tEALw_wcB
It would be nice to have the cassette setup in a wet shower with sink. Still trying to figure this piece out.

Solar wise I have the portable panel for my trailer from Overland solar, have loved it so I will stick with them for my solar needs. Great customer service and even came to my home and hooked me all up with my old trailer setup. Undecided about how many panels and watts, will confer with the overland dealer once camper portion is in that stage: https://overlandsolar.com/collections

Wife want washer/drier so I'll go with one of those standard all-in-one RV setups: https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-Products-Portable-Capacity/dp/B01ICBLBL0/?tag=rvwebnetwork-20

I told my wife either we buy an LMTV or get a 45 ft catamaran and sail around the world with me. It was a no brainer for her. She loves to do day sail but ocean crossing. :D Case settles.

LOL, love it.
I will continue to make updates to the first page as I figure out more on which direction I am going to go with the LMTV.
There are a couple of awesome Youtube'rs that are or have shared their builds step by step that I have subscribed to.
It is hard to find a YouTube blogger you can listen to more than 60 seconds but these guys are pretty awesome and I have learned a lot from them:

All the are awesome. Sean is very helpful and capable, hard to mimic what he’d done.

One more observation from me all these guys are in PNW, I am the lonely one in mid-Atlantic states. ... LOL

So I am building my subframe (in my head) for the camper.
I am going to do a 4 point with the standard pivot points front and back but the two sides I think I am going to use these suspension pivot shafts (see pic below). I can weld some ½ plate to it and fashion a pretty good 'bracket'. If this can hold the weight of the truck and pivot it should hold the camper as well....
Anyone know where I can buy these used and on the cheap?

Still surfing the net looking for my ride.....
I saw some Titan 05-14302-00 wheels. I believe these are for the LMTV, correct?
Thinking of buying them so I can get started and get them to the powder coater...
Made this very important purchase today for the build....
Not sure if those are the right ones, I bought these just, we'll, because I could?
I knew I needed new tires anyway, but they look different then the ones you posted.....

I wonder if the demands of LMTV has come down because of the COVID 19 crisis and a slow economy. There may be fewer of us bidding on GovPlanet.

I have two parts 1088s. If you aren’t in a HUGE hurry I’d sell a set for mostly the cost of my time to pull them

Thank you Wheel spinner, but I think I figured out a way to make something just as feasible... thank you again.
As for Govt Planet the LMTV choices are very slim these days as compared to pre-Covid... Pretty brutal....
Either way, still not having a truck in my garage I did order my first upgrade to the LMTV today. Ill post a pic when it gets in....
