When I got back home today I decided to just look over the ECV Humvees and seeing how much they were going for. I notice some going for cheap and some for very high, but the one thing I notice is "Emarketplace." I thought this were only on stuff that's sold by individuals not on Government items. Is this a buy it now price? This is the first humvee I've seen sold from the government with a emarketplace instead of an auction. This also went for very cheap for a but it now emarketplace price, I'm curious to learn more about this and is this something new for government products?

I'd be curious too. I was all ramped up to bid on surplus HUMvee's until the reality of the "off-road use only" restriction set in. Maybe the E-marketplace will come up with an H1 from time to time.

.
Does Kansas have that same "off-road only" title restriction?

I won one off an auction, I'm getting my title and plate through dirt legal. You should look into it, its an easy way to get these titled without having do all the things yourself. Mines should be in next month

E-marketplace is just another wing of the RB family. Different agents, different rules, etc. That being said, if an item is challenged under their "Iron Clad Guarantee" and the price is reduced to compensate for the agreed defect and value then the item will show a "buy it now" next to the final price. Don't get caught up in seeing this as a cheap HMMWV because the owner likely got bit on the back end. Source: purchased a M1079A1R years ago and went through the same process so I know it first hand.

As far as Kansas, I’m researching that issue of restrictions. I’ve got a friend in state government that can help find the right info. Based on another Steel Soldiers thread, they were working on a bill that was favorable to MV’s.

La has a vin stencil law and a military plate law. Easy peasy more than most states. All done in Baton Rouge at the special and prestige plate unit.

So pricing at dirt legal starts at $597. They need you to transfer ownership to them as well as give them copy of your id and social security number. Why wouldn’t you just get a title from govplanet for $150 ?-
