Another M151A1 Electric fuel pump Question.

I have three of the in-tank M151A1 fuel pumps, part number 10950785. Question I have is how do I test them? I can’t really sell them if I can’t verify operability. I’ve checked the various TM’s with no luck. Depending on your TM copy, it’s in figure 21, item 10 of TM9-2320-218-34P dated 15 November 1988.

If you hook them up to the 24v for a few seconds dry they should make a rattling noise. They are not complicated inside. There is a little ball that is moved up and down that pushes the fuel.

The prices of these pumps are crazy! $650.00 +/- a buck or two! That’s nuts! So, with that in mind, $250.00 each. I tested them and both work. I don’t know if they are NOS or gently used. Let me know what you think.

How do you put 24 volts to it? I have one to test
I have several trucks, most are 24 volt. Take a wire, attach it to the left battery negative terminal. Get a second wire, attach it to the right positive terminal. Attach the positive wire to the pump wire. Using the left wire, touch it to the case of the pump. It’ll kick over if it’s at least marginally intact. I’ve used this to test several components. Got zapped a few times as well. I take no responsibility if you get zapped. It’s one of those “try by doing” events.
