M1123 shows to be a different length?

I was looking at the M998A2 ”new car brochure” and noticed that the M1123 is 8” shorter than the others. After pouring over some pictures all I could come up with is a difference in rear bumper.

Does anyone know what causes the difference in length? Is there anything to know when shopping for tops? Will a slant back fit on an M1123?

just airlift bumper, the M1123 doesn't come with the winch as standard equipment like say the M1026 or M1046 were

Anything that will fit a standard HMMWV body will fit the M1123.

The only real differences between the M1123 and an M998A2 is the rear airlift bumper and having everything for the fording kit already installed except maybe the intake and exhaust stacks.

Not much difference at all between the A0/A1 versions of the M998 and the A2 version when looking at the body

So yes, you can install a slantback from another truck, but you should try to make sure the components are all from the same series of truck, because hard roof/slantbacks/turrets do have some variation over the years and the mix and match game doesn't always work out.
