Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Id say pretty close. The mfg date on the trailer is 56. But they probably spent their time together. So you think if its running and welding it'd be worth $500? Anything else that is common failure? Is the engine pretty durable? Is it the same as a m37 engine or just similiar? The bearing is typically sealed. You have to replace it to grease it. BUT if all you need this welder for is to lay down the occasional bead, it’s probably ok. Continuous duty is the issue. Unit is probably worth $500. Trailer is nice. It’s possible the trailer and welder have been together since 1955.
Just out of curiosity what is a m37 long block worth if its old but runs-say if the genset was faulty?Yes that engine is bulletproof. The oil pan might be mostly full of sludge, verify before trying to start. Engine long block should be the same as M37, accessories are different. Personally I would start negotiating at $500. That’s not a lot of money these days.
Hard to say, $200-300 maybe.Just out of curiosity what is a m37 long block worth if its old but runs-say if the genset was faulty?
