A while back I put word out that I was looking for a M1061 trailer to haul the M37 behind the 5 ton.
@fuzzytoaster let me know he had one, so a quick trip to Dallas and I was the proud owner.
It has been sitting because I wouldn't need it until I got my M37 running, but then the M715 came into my life....
So... this past Monday I hauled it to the shop to start getting it ready. The M715 pulled it like a boss! (At 45mph! )
So my buddy Mike and I started building a dovetail for it.
We got the majority of it finished last night and tested:
There was some doubt about the tubing, so we did what any one of us would do.... we drove the M715 up and down it several times and parked on the joint between the ramps and the dovetail to test for flex. Solid as a rock.
Today was finishing the tire grips on the sheet metal and paint.
We rhino-lined the top deck, painted the sides and added new reflectors and safety tape all the way around
Then added a license plate bracket and new mounts for the lights and tested! Everything works including BO markers!
