M932A2 Alternator Question

Hello everybody. I have an M932A2 with the 8.3 cummins. The alternator caught fire around the positive connections. I have an alternator off of an M35A3 which looks the same. My question is are they the same and a direct replacement for my 932? My 932 has an exciter wire soldered to a post under the metal cover, but the M35 does not. Thank you.

I'd like to buy your bad alternator.

I just need a placeholder to give the belt something to ride. Someone needed an alternator worse than me and so I was persuaded to sell mine. Now my poor wrecker sits in the field, all forlorn and nonrunning...
