M998 Issue

Today I noticed a click cycling noise from M998. With the start switch in the off position. It sounds Like the same clicking noise when the glow plugs cycle before startup.
Any ideas? Has anyone had this issue? I've unhooked the batteries until I track this down.

PCB poor connection or onset of failure. Possible failure of aftermarket keyed ignition. You should read my thread about PCB repair/bypass

I have had a couple older PCB boxes do that a few times right after the ign. is turned off, the boxs did not fail but it was a little unsettling.
Turn the heater blower on and see if it cycles with the clicking.
Probably time to upgrade to a smart start if it is not already, I have not seen a smart start box do that.
The glow plug control usually does not click, 90% of them are electronic, what you hear clicking is the run relay that powers the alt/heater etc.

I don't think anything has been upgraded. It
sat in a garage since 2010. Today Is the 5th time I started it, after I changed the oil and all filters.

Thanks for the lead. I'll check out your post.
I've only had the truck a few days. It's been parked since 2010 in a garage. So it's only the 5th time I've started the truck. After changing all the fluids and filters today I parked it out front and noticed the noise. Plus the wait light didn't come on, but it stared no problem at all.
