I am trying to find the correct part number for the mechanical lift pump to put on my M1009 as it has an electric pump. I found Delphi CHFP906 on this site but when I search in internet I only find HFP906. Are these the same or different?

In addition, If I were to leave the electric pump in line on the frame, would the mechanical pump pull through the electric? Would the electric pump through the mechanical? I think they would. I would like to leave the electric in place to use for priming the system and as a backup if ever needed.

Any of the mech pump numbers on rockauto will work

I eliminated the mech lift pump on my k10 and just use a frame mounted carter electric fuel pump on a toggle switch in the cab. Made a block off plate and removed rod behind it that drives the pump (important if you do away with pump)

The diaphragm in the mech pumps can deteriorate or tear and contaminate your engine oil with diesel. I understand some folks want to keep their rigs as original as possible.
