Adding armor back to the 1151

Spent the last few weekends adding repro armor back to the Hmmwv - the 11 series trucks just look so much better to me like this. I sold off my a2 and used part of those funds to do it, even added the flat doors. This stuff I got from Jacob Garlitz bolted right up! I was impressed. I powder coated it for corrosion protection from the back, and sanded it down for painting outside areas. A few pics of progress and the current state - still need to find an armored windshield solution for the front.

I’m not in the know. May I ask who Jacob Garlitz is? Link?
He's in the FB groups - I'm not sure if he's on SS. He's fabbed up some pretty amazing products that are hard as hell to get.

I'll be getting his set for my GMV - I'm glad to hear that it bolted right up. I had heard that he wasn't doing holes for a while. I've got roller doors and while I know it's more correct, I'm inclined to do the flat x-doors myself. The trucks are hard enough to see out of as it is, no need to make it worse.

Sorry - yes he’s on the Facebook groups. I agree about the roller doors, they really aren’t needed to get the look I was after, and the price of roller doors is high! If you can’t find him pm me and I’ll send you his number.

Here’s a before photo from early October for reference.

It definitely looks more correct than the way it was - the previous look looks like someone took a 10 series kit and put it on an 11 series truck, so it just doesn't look right. The armor package is definitely where it's at.

Is there a TM for the armor? One project I’m hoping to do a few years down the road, is welding up some rocker panel protection for mine. I’d think I could use a similar mounting system for the bottom foot well area
