Hello everyone,

I just added mil vehicle #3 to my collection, a Gaz 66 with a Ford 7.3 TD/4R100 swap. Great runner but needs finishing touches surrounding the swap. It came with the original driveline and a bed full of spare parts. Imported from Belarus in 2017.

Are there any other Gaz 66 owners on the forums and in the US? I would love to hear from you and your ownership experiences.IMG_6496.jpegIMG_6786.jpeg

Thats got to be the nicest looking 66 I have ever seen! I am thinking the new engine should be just about perfect for this truck. Congrats on the purchase i sure dont think there are to many in the US!
Thanks! Its the first I’ve seen here, I’m sure there’s more hiding somewhere. No one has recognized it so far…it’s usually confused for Western European.

The 7.3 is very well suited to it and the swap was well done. I’m chasing some wiring and finishing touches but mainly driving it as much as I can.

Missed this earlier.

That is one nice looking truck! [thumbzup]
I'd like to see more pictures, particularly inside the cab and bed.

Cheers
Thanks! The bed is currently not much to look at as it still has spare parts I need to get onto shelves, much of it related to the original driveline and electronics or the donor F350.

Cab is all stock minus an instrument cluster the PO put together using boat style gauges…on the list to replace with more suitable type. The shifter/transfer case linkage as well.

This is the exact truck shortly after it was imported while it still had the original ZMZ v8. The sun has not been very kind to the paint but it’s largely unchanged. I don’t particularly care for the commentary but it shows the truck well

Some pictures I took on pickup day. I’ll get better ones to show current condition

And some recent short videos - you can see the donor wiring harness through the grille that was loosely hung. It’s an eye sore and I’ll properly split the loom for routing. On the plus side the swap did include the donor hydro boost brakes which work very well.

Thanks! The video guys may be a bit goofy, but they do show the truck well. Even showed how the blackout covers on the headlights work!

Really cool truck. :)

Cheers
