Hey guys, long story short, my tires are original to the truck (1991) and need replacing. Bad. I've found tons of sites with 14.00R20s and 395/85R20s for sale, all goodyears and Michelin.

Recently I found a tire "Advance GL-073A" in size 14.00R20. I was wondering if anyone had experience with these tires mounting them to a truck like this?

They're load and speed rating is right, I've just never heard of this tire before.

The tires on this truck is really the only thing that stops me from drivig this thing more often.

They're also brand new for $500 per, compared to $500 for a 95% MV/T with a DOT of 2017.

I'd call some tire guys and get more specifics. I googled them before and no where does it say for on-highway use on any published .pdf. To be fair, it doesn't say the opposite either.

Wow- orig 1991? Too bad you didn't get routine Unc. Sam change out around 2000 at least! Your call- will probably need your old bead-locks. Gemplers has good O Rings. Shipping may be a deal maker or breaker. I like a pair of affordable "NATO" stye new old stock, General Brand from S Africia, Great on front. For $500 you can get proven Goodyears in good shape. Thats what I bought last. Good luck and advise if you get them..

I'll do some more research into them. I'm siding on going with a trusted brand. These bad Larry's are still pretty tough at 30 years, I think they still have run flats in them. If I don't go with the advance tires, it'll be the GY MV/T's.

Either way, I'm looking at 2018 or 2017 DOT cause I can't afford brand new a much as I'd like. My pockets aren't as deep as uncle Sam. Either way I'm looking at about $5k.

FYI- last I checked Eastern Surplus, Phila. Pa., (and an E Bay guy in Virginia) had new Continentals. They sold me the pair of Generals but may be out. $5 K budget- for 6- should be more than enough. #395's at about 46 inch is an option if changing a full set (7??). Bead Locks re-use OK. Those look pretty good---- for 1991. Any treads left? How many miles? I had early 2000"s Michelins fronts on my 6300 mile 1991 truck. Low treads then, but less cracks. Now yard art.

These have about 25k miles on them. Still a decent amount of tread but the cracks are bad. And they're bulging out on the side walls. I included a picture of what one looks like. They're all about the same. I'd say about 50% tread compared to the spare tire that's also "new" 1991...

I just swapped the front passenger out for the spare this weekend. That way I can at least drive it to get new tires or to pick up the new tires.
