So as of right now I have 24v going to it when the ignition switch is off but as soon as I turn on the ignition switch it looses the 24v . No horn no idiot light is coming on the only thing that is working is the lights on the dash and head lamps.

This is the phenomenon that ronmar discussed in his second paragraph in post 19. Somewhere upstream of where you are measuring the 24 volts is a bad connection. Find and fix it and you’re done.

Ok voltage dropping off when load is applied is a classic symptom of a high resistance connection. That or a really bad battery.

easy enough to track down though:

Since you say you have lights, which are all 12v, i suspect the ground to 12v batt is OK

with the switch turned on/load applied, you can start at the battery and measure 24V to ground with your meter. If that 24v is bad, then the 12-24v battery is the issue. …If that is OK check it at the 24v batt connection on the polarity protection device(PPD) between spare tire and air filter, then the 24v load connection on the PPD. If you find a point where 24v is missing, the bad connection is between there and the last good 24v measurement you took. if it is OK at the PPD 24v load terminal then the issue is the cable and connections between the PPD and the dash 24V testpoint X1, where you are currently loosing 24v under load...

The PPD is out in the weather and bad connections here are not uncommon. I cannot recall how many have had issues here, but it is a lot, including myself. This was the first electrical problem I experienced on my LMTV, the day after I got it home from the auction yard…

Update PPD is bad on 24v side, and the 24v cable running from the PPD to the alternator has corrosion in the cable itself so replacing these parts it should fix the issues we are having with this LMTV 1078 A0. Thanks for all y'all help!!! If you do not hear from me it working or my wife may have killed me lol.

A lot of us just bypass the PPD, it is only there to protect all the electronics from someone doing a reverse polarity slave start. I hear you on the wifey, mine has come close a few times.
