Increase front wheel drop?

I am getting very good at rebuilding the front suspension as I have tried a number of combinations of parts to get my M998 to look level. Currently running 2" body lift, 2" lift coil spacers, and uncut armada springs in the front but the shock is limiting how far the front wheel will extended down. My initial thought is to weld a plate over the existing upper strut eye bolt hole and drill a new one slightly lower. (I suppose I could also cut it at the bottom mount and reweld) but before I go down this road I wanted to see if anyone has done anything similar?

Actually that is a shock not a strut.
It sounds like you need to find a longer shock.
Be very careful, especially with heat around the shock as it can build excessive pressure and blow up!

you know of any longer "Shocks"? I was looking at Cepek but wanted to try a cheaper option first, And yes thats why I wanted to weld at the top of the shock. And I would try to keep it cool as to not melt the bushing out of it!

They have made a ship load of different shocks over the years, one would think there is a spread sheet somewhere with all the different dimensions.
Saying that I have never looked for one.. :)

For future refrence, adding an inch of shock length does not equal an inch of lift in my case. It measures exactly the same. so something else must be limiting the downward flex of the wheel. Maybe the sway bar? I think Im done chasing this rabbit. On to the next task.

Trying to figure this suspension out is so random. I'm not sure how you are running uncut Armada springs in the front with 2" spacers as I have cut Armada springs and no spacers and I'm sitting 6" high with my frame at 24". I'm going to make taller upper spring perches but I don't know how much higher to make them as I don't want to do it twice.

Also, I got longer shocks from someone on here, I think American Humvee or something. THe guy who sells those springs. I had to put limiting straps on to keep the axles from binding and theyre still bound up now I think. You can only go 1/2" or so more than stock
