It is DEFINITELY not a 60 MPH truck. 50-55 is all you'll get...if you want to keep your motor intact. I have put quite a few miles on my truck since I got it several months back. Just this past weekend I put another 135 or so miles on it and the weekend before I put another 100 or so on it. They like to run around 50-52. At 50 MPH, you are turning about 2,500 RPM...which is high generally (especially compared to the LDT-465-1 D/C motor), but these motors can be run up to 2,800 RPM, or so says the manual and a data plate on the motor...not that I turn mine that fast. You have to do 2,500 if you want to do 50 MPH. So, at 60+ MPH, you will be turning 2,800+ RPM...maybe Bjorn can do the math...I am just eye-balling it since I have never driven my truck that fast and don't intend to. The motor has good power and will blow any M35A2 off of the line...but they'll both end up doing around 50 MPH. The transmission shifts crisply and firmly. The electric wipers are great. The driver's seat is much more comfortable. The heater is more efficient...33,000 BTUs vs. 30,000 BTUs in the A2...plus it is mounted under the dash in the cab so it recycles the warm heat rather than having to heat cold air. Everything on the truck is either new or rebuilt vs. 30+ years old on average. I can't tell you guys how cool it is to open/shut the windows and doors and they feel like new. The hood looks wierd...no doubt...but, the more you are in and around the truck, the less you notice it. All in all, I would take an M35A3 over three M35A2s any day. The problem is, you really end up paying the same as about five M35A2s cost...and sometimes more! I happened to "steal" mine when I got it since I got mine about as cheaply as I've seen them. I am very happy with my truck. It is a permanent member of my motor pool...unless a nicer M35A3 comes up...and then all bets are off.
