The gear shift and muffler/air cleaner looks like one of the 6bt/5.9 FMS trucks that were built for export. One came up last year in South Carolina.

I recall the ad said it was fairly late model: 1992 or so.

Ok auction is over.
It was listed on GSA. I won the truck, don't know if i paid too much for it or not. I don't think there are too many of these trucks out there. I will take some pics on the pickup and the trip home.

Well, I know the 6BT made it into Military boats... Generally displaced the Detroits and the Volvo-Pentas they used through the early 90s. I worked on quite a few in the Navy. Single and dual engine boats. Good engine, but a bear to work on in a boat.

Congrats! That is a lot of truck you got there. I'll be the first to ask for pics (without utilizing the annoying emoticon) so we can get a glimpse of the drive train that was fitted, making it an "E3".
Anyone have data on these beasts? Is it the same drive train as the M35A3's (Cat/Allison)??

I'm pretty sure it's a Cummins/5-speed. I know it's not a auto from the cab pic (you can see the shifter).

I am going to pickup the truck. I spoke with the site manager and he said it had a cat engine in it. The only one I could think of is a 3116. But I thought that could not fit in without the front end mods like the M35A3 had? I guess I will find out.
