Well, I did some checkin finally. The only weekend that is good on this end 'till after the middle of June is the 25/26th of April. Seems there is something goin on every week. I already know Hole can't make those dates. See how that flies. If that won't work for too many, there IS something else! There was some mention of maybe trying another spot, well, the Tehachapi event is happening June 17 thru the 21st. Last year was fun..woulda been better if there was a bigger turn out. Chuck only advertized thru the club and word of mouth. This year, it will be different. The SCMVCC AND the MVPA are backing it. He has had over 100 calls as of last Sunday. Food, airsoft games, his own gun range on his property...can't wait for the .50 again! There is a tour of a machine shop that rebuilds Merlin, Allison and other vintage aircraft engines with a high probability of one running in the test cell, swap meet. Should be lotsa fun. The only down side is that there won't be so much off roading, just the hops to the machine shop and the Tehachapi loop. What say ye?

That may work for me...I heard we are doing Jawbone Canyon, Cali City right:twisted:..Pipeline area have good camp spots...we can find wheeling somewhere...or mabye do some other things:beer:

EDIT:....Had a revalation....:doh:WORK has me pinned close to home for the last 2 weeks of April and the first Week of May......auaauaaua

If the time becomes available, I will have to reconsider last minute....

Well, I was thinkin' Stoddard again. There are still hundreds of miles of trails we have not been on and, with an exception for Nathan, it is close. Plus the eats places and lead disposal...besides, the desert could still use a bit of clean up out there. Sorry guys, just lots of stuff happening this year on my end and I didn't get to it in a timely manner . Hole is correct, we SHOULD maybe start planning the fall run now . We need to find some mines and do some exploring.

So.. I guess this means "Dirtbag" is a no-go? Is the Tehachapi event advertised somewhere on this site, or on another website? The April date will be kind of close to my recovery time from a week at Moab anyway, and Tehachapi is so close that I might not even have to trailer my Goat in. June is still wide open right now - except for a 5-day dunebuggy/fishing trip to Pismo Beach, and the dates aren't settled on that trip yet. I definitely have learned to get my dates written down on our family calendar before our "social director" - er.. I mean the wife  - shanghai's them for other activities!

Social director! I like that! Dirtbag is still a go if people still wana do it. My calendar is just full for the first half of the year. Let's hang out a few days and see who else pipes up. I can't wait to see your GG! One of these days i'll talk Craig into keeping one of his in ready to run condition instead of being pickled.

Hey guys, just checking in. Appears that a date still has not been confirmed? Anyways, I'm still a no-go for the April 25th/26th weekend. Got a meeting scheduled with the Board of Directors of IHACI... Maybe I missed it, but was there a date set for the Tehachapi event? I'll check back again...

Thanks,

Tyler

If I can get everything done on the movie-truck by then, 25/26 Apr sounds good to me. I'm still going through the DMV paperwork maze though, and I want to return the (currently very leaky) brakes to DOT5 (from the DOT3 the prev owner used) and do the axle-seals/boots and other PM items while I'm at it - so it'll be tight - we'll see how efficient I can be.

April will be kind of crowded with stuff to do - but I'll hold that weekend open, in case DBIV comes off. Getting together locally with a smaller group of MV's will still be way better than working my way down the "honey-do" list! I noticed yesterday that the Goat has sprung a couple of leaks over the past 2 weeks - probably due to a whole lot of driving around after a long period of just resting. The 'twin' diesel fuel drips from the tanks' drain valves will probably be a relatively short morning job tomorrow - but the small puddle of gear oil in my driveway is a little more disturbing. I hope it doesn't mean a weekend totally sucked-up by the trans or one of the 3 differentials, hungry for a new gasket!

Came up for air so I am checking in finally. Tehachapi sounds like fun.
Watching Camp Dirtbag date(s) for update.

Anybody interested in the Salute To Veterans Parade in Riverside on April 18th?
This is a for sure go.

I know Hole expressed interest. I have to get the paperwork for it from my Father In Law there.

Just went out to start the Deuce and batteries have gone south. Hope I can revive them without replacing them. Only 2 years old.

Ok, got to get nose back to grindstone. Talk to ya'll soon.

I enjoy good local parades, but the 18th of April would be too tight for me now, what with other commitments.

As to the batteries - post back here or PM if you give it your best shot charging, and still don't have success. Maybe I can forward you a few ideas.

BTW - my "minor" diesel fuel drips turned out to be leaky preformed crossover hoses. Jeez - they were only 39 years old! They just don't make trucks like they used to.;-) I had NAPA build new hoses to spec for me.
