Here you guys go, i finally sealed the deal so now i can post this up. Not sure what year as i didn't actually look while i was there. I need to thank boatcarpenter on this one as without him i would never have found this truck, gotten such a great deal or have gotten nearly as much done. We met up this past friday and spent the afternoon turning back the hands of time. Had to forcibly remove it from its resting spot with a large tractor, it did take some doing but it moved. Surprisigly enough all but the rearmost 2 tires on the pass side are inflated still. New fuel filters, new batts, drained 20 gal of something that resembled diesel from the tank. Still another 5 or so gal in there but i ran out of buckets. Will be pulling the drain and giving it a flush the next work day. Pulled the in tank pump and cleaned it up a bit as well as setting it a few inches off the tank bottom so hopefully i can avoid sucking too much of the crud that will no doubt still be in there. At least untill the truck gets home and i can drop the tank for a propper scrubbing. Jumpered across the aftermarket ignition and got power to the important stuff, starter and fuel pump at least, haven't checked anything else yet. The in tank sounded pretty decent after the cleaning, sounded a little odd before it. Hit the foot starter button with the stop cable pulled just to see if it worked and the truck cranked like a dream. Would't guess it had sat more than 5 min rather than the 10 years it has prob been since it moved or started. Still need to change the oil, reinstall the drivers door, and fix the brakes. No surprise the petal went to the floor. Strongly considering going to DOT 3 as the system will need to be completely bled anyway. Have a look at the pics. How about that primary filter?? Looks like a bunch of brass discs stacked together and compressed when you tourque the bolt that holt the cannister. All i know is that the primary was full of crud and the secondarys were pretty clean so it got cleaned with a toothbrush and put back in. The NAPA replacement would not fit as i would need a larger washer on the bolt.
