Deuces wild fire sale

I need some parts if you are gonna part one out.

A deuce is 6 tons, scrap was at $250 a ton, makes for $1500 across the scale, still have to haul, de-fuel, etc . . . where was there ever any money in scrapping deuces?

It only makes sense that they will want more than they paid at auction. Think back to the auctions in MD and DE. This guy was buying everything up and paying reasonable prices. I remember seeing the same bidder # winning truck after truck. So, figure he paid $1,500 per truck. Do the math and add a profit for him. Now, you have your reasonable offer. If you expect him to take a loss, I think that is asking a bit much. For that price, you will get what you know to be a running deuce. Sounds reasonable to me. It sounds like from the first few posts that he would take $2,500. Start there. If he wanted to lose money, he could scrap them.

I guess not everyone knows the meaning of a fire sale! Everything must go no mater what the price (Within reason). Otherwise its not a fire sale!!!!

Before the bottom fell out I was getting $350 a ton for a while.

The scrap yards sell the stuff to the mills or overseas you bring to them for almost double what they give you also. So if this guy is a scrap dealer that sells directly to the mills or overseas markets at one time a deuce was worth a pretty good chunk of change. That's not the case nowdays. I sold some stuff this week for $140 a ton.

GE...you are right...everything must go "within reason." If the guy was getting $4K previously and took $2500 now, that would seem to be fire sale pricing. A fire sale does not mean the guy has to sell the truck for a grand when he paid more. I can almost guarantee you he did pay more because I was following those trucks and, as I said above, many went for $1500 or more. He was not lowballing trucks. He was paying good money. Make the guy a reasonable offer for the two of you...not just you...and I bet he will take it or at least consider it.

i don't know where you get your prices but i'm in the iron triangle when i bought them i was getting 575.00 a ton do the math and you have 3450.00 a piece for scrap and i burn all the waste oil for heat so i'm still saving money you gotta remember bud your in texas i'm in maryland totally different prices

when i purchased this equipment i was getting 575 a ton. prices are a little different in maryland than texas

i'm not much on wikipedia i know what i paid for them i know what i have to get for and i'd much rather see them put to good use them cut up in my srcap pile.
