saw an old soldier

saw this one on the side of the road, no longer driving anywhere but still working.Not for sale, I asked, said he still uses it quite a bit.I'll keep an eye on as I sure could use a wrecker even though this one would need some work.

I like how the boom is extended to the left at about a 90 degree angle, and the left side outriggers are not down. You can also see it listing to the left a bit. Great find! Glad to see it is still being used!

I'm pretty sure that putting the out riggers down was optional for that year/model

That may be, I do not know much about them, but I can talk from experience that it does not take much to take any "crane" or "boom truck" off its wheels. I am just safety cautious thats all.
When getting my Crane Cert. class we also saw many many videos of situations like that.

Sort of like a backhoe with the digging bucket extended all the way out without the outriggers. You can take one hand and push down on the bucket and raise the front of the tractor off the ground. Leverage is your friend (sometimes).
