This question must be on a cycle like the CUCV key question.

Here is the best thread IMHO with photos on this question. Clinto has a photo of his set up in this thread that shows what you're looking for.

Do you have the back plate for the standoff? Also the brush guard? Not absolutely required but may keep you antenna from getting pulled out if hit.

Also cable channels for the inside of the bed if you are installing the wire from the antenna to the cab. keeps people from tripping and/or cargo from pulling that outl

20 years in the Army revealed to me anything is possible:-D Just about anywhere is correct, think about height when mounted, you will whack everything if you mount it high, of course high is the best place for transmission.

I think this is the most common place. If the radio is mounted under the companion seat, this location would also be closeset to the radio. I'll see if I can find a photo.

Hey Clint,

The photo of your truck is in the thread link I posted above. There's about 20 photos of different ways to mount one and your's is one.

I've got a truck that has it mounted by u bolts where the ring mount would go on the driver's side behind the cab in case anyone is still wondering. According the the markings, they did this in Apr of 07'. Truck might have went across the pond for all I know. I'll send the number's to CARNAC and check the history out.
