Pretty jazzed about these, think I will put them on mine, too cool to pass up. I also picked up this door for my buddy Warthog, think I should charge him like 500 bucks? It is a pretty fine door:-D

i dunno, 500 for a door seems a little off

Cool Mirrors! BUT I wouldn't want to drive in rural Texas or any city with them!!!
I'm so ruined by the West Coast Mirrors on my M35A2 and elephant ear mirrors on my Unimg.... That I HATE driving my wife's Jeep 2006 Wrangler Unlimited cause the mirros suck.....:-D! I have the original motorcycle mirrors for my 1963 Swiss Unimog S404.114 Cargo Carrier (NOS!), I consider putting them on, and then think, hell, it's hard enough not to run these goofy !@#$%%#^^(**^%'s down now, what would I do with less visibility?
All I can say is you guys have BIG Kahunas..... and I'd cut the price on the door, that ain't rustproofing the photographer put on that door:twisted:!

Hell no! I have them on my 109 and love them. In fact, I'm pulling the west coast mirrors off my dropside truck for a set of those. When installed and adjusted right, they are better. IMHO.

Frodo, My M48 only has 1 support rod and the tiny round mirror, so it could be worse!:roll:

Those mirrors would probably be marginally OK on a gasser, but on a multifuel, they are going to be shaken to death.

If you guys are taking the cab doors off, you must use a wheel barrow to haul the family jewels around.... I can't imagine the weight o the doors. And if your west coasts have a really old bolt in the outer mirror support hinge joint..... you bump somthing and that long skinny bolt goes pop and the mirror swings in. Unfortunately I didn't have the right replacement part, so I made new ones outta smaller stainless all thread, and set them looser so the mirrors would swing in without breaking the bolts. No damage to the cowling either. :-D

I had am M422A1 mighty mite with that nasty old one arm motorcycle mirror, any speed, including idle, would set it vibrating until I made a field mod strap going from the windshield frame to the nut that held the mirror on. Authenticity is great, but not running over the dorks around you is somewhat better (unless you believe in mechanical Darwinism)!

I have the mirrors that are welded to the windshield hinge pin, I guess it's like the 3rd variation of the mirrors. I took the west coasts off, as in the desert with the windshield down, they block too much scenery. The smaller mirrors are much better off road, and I have had no problem with them in town, or on the freeway.

I may add some small wide angled mirrors under them just so I can see whos next to my running boards, but you need those with the west coast set up also.

I have the same as AZ Deuce. The elephant ears. I like those the best. Very little vibration and easily removable when off road. The West Coasts vibrate too much and get knocked off in the woods.

I have the 2 legged square mirrors on the Gasser. I was impressed with how good they are compared to the single legged mount for the exact same mirror on the M715. Then I got the dual pattern West Coast mirrors on the Whistler. I feel blind in the Gasser now.

When you go to set them up Tom. Stand in line with the outside edge of the bed and troop seats. Make sure the entire mirror is outside that line. As long as you do that, you will be able to see all you want by moving your head around. Watch out for small tree branches though. They will move those mirrors around real fast. No damge, just the pain of re adjusting them over and over again.

I have those mirrors on both my trucks. I have driven through, not around, both Kansas Cities, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus, and many others with no problem. It takes some getting used to.
