m35a2c clogged fuel system

Yes....Look at the picture in post 10. This control rod should move VERY freely with little or no resistance. I cleaned mine without removing the head so it saved alot of work. I guess the instructions Warthog gave me were in a PM. I'll go back and see if they are still there.

Sorry guys the PM got the axe, I should have saved it. But all of the same info can be found in the TM's. Just make sure you take your time because there are some small parts and the angles on the control rod need to be maintained. Btw you will have to stand on your head while doing it. :-D

I have found that biodiesel or even WVO (thats centrifuged) cleans the fuel system real well. When I ran my m1009 on it, I ended up changing the filter twice from all of the crud in the tank. So far only once on the Deuce filters though! You might want to blend a little diesel with it just so it flows better when it's cold, but so far no problems here in Northern NC.:-D

Won't help here. The control collar adjusting mechanism is the ONLY seal between diesel at 60 PSI and engine oil. It is a precise fit, once it is dirty to the point of sticking the governor, fuel will not get in between. The material that causes the sticking is oxidized diesel varnish.

Carefully taking the unit apart (pay attention to alignment of the lever and shaft) will allow cleaning with solvent. When reassembled and installed, check for fuel leaks by turning the master switch on. It should remain dry on the outside, this is important as any leak here will end up in the crankcase!
