Switches for accessories

What kind of switches are out there that one could use to mount in the Deuce for controlling accessories? Like an on/off switch for backup lights or such? I'd like to add backup lights at some point and also install a Armor Dome Light in the bed of the truck. I want to mount a switch on the dash somewhere to turn them on/off, but I don't want to just use any old parts store looking switch - I want it to look like it came in the Deuce.

I use the 'military style' switches because they look cool. They are pretty much the same as the other deuce switches (i.e. steel toggle) but with a missile cover. You should pay attention to amperage versus your application for what ever you pick, but you probably already have a pretty good idea of Ohm's Law.

I use my toggle for a pair of 24v offroad lamps up front, which were normal 12v chinese daylighters that I painted OD green and installed 24V H3 bulbs into. You can also wire 12v lamps in series. My switch is 12v but it of suitable amperage to handle my 5 amps worth of lights. For my power inverter and power filter that powers my VIC-1 system, I connected them to a battery switch and circuit breaker I mounted in the cab through an existing hole.

I have to give my 2 cents worth. The best switches I have ever used are from kissling - type 08. You pay for it, but I think you would be hard pressed to find any better.

Bjorn, do you have a source for reasonably priced paddle (rotary) switches? Saturn has them at almost $30 each and I need a bunch. Looked on ebay to no avail.

The armor lights don't require a seperate switch. They have a switch on the light itself.

Here is a 20 amp for $2.00 All Electronics is a well know supplier in the industry. They also have indicator lights. The flip up covers I couldn't find there but should be easy.

Yeah I know, was planning on putting one in the bed of the truck like I seen someone else on here do and leave it turned on, but control it with a switch in the cab like the cargo light in my pickup operates. Then got to thinking of maybe mounting some type of light under the dash to light the floor up..... THEN got to thinking it may be handier to have the dome light controlled off a toggle on the dash too, on the left side of the steering column as that would be a natural place for it. Then when I put backup lights on it.....

I like gadgetry, so I plan on installing a switch panel for a four-beam roto becaon, VHF Regency programmable radio, and some Hella 500 off-road lamps. I was considering using a commercial public safety switch box but of course it wouldn't look very original. I like the panal someone made up with the fuel temp gauge. I'm thinking I may do the same adding an exhaust temp gauge as well.

Where's a good place to tap into power for the Armor Dome lights?

How about power tap for backup lights on the rear or extra flood lights on the front?
