And I done cought meh a '42 Dodge Powerwagon. It isnt mine though, I fished it out for my brothers landlord. He said its been sitting there since he bought the land 27 years ago. It was burried pretty bad, The entire hood up to the window was underground/pile of wood. She was ass end up at about a 45degree angle. The ground was nice and soggy, tractions was little. We broke a 3/8 chain just with a little tugging. So we upgraded to my tank recovery chain, which is 3/4in chain. After some failed attempts of traction pulling, we resorted to some snatching. After a couple attempts it finally moved about a foot or 2. The one massive tug poped it out of the hole. The it was 2nd gear low range at about 2400rpm to just slowly drag it out of the mud. Once the front tires hit hardpack, idling in 1st was enough to drag it around like nothing. The truck looks really good for its age, nothing but some surface rust and broken glass. Suprisenly all the tires looked good, didnt have any cracking and where still holding air. The front tires rolled, but the back ones are locked. looks to have a factory PTO, and a winch( the drum was sitting in the bed). Overall its very restoreable, and he is planning on restoring it.
The pictures don't do justice the size of the ruts. I was draggin axles on the deuce. Last few pictures are of the deuce clearing the brush to get back to the truck.
Later that night we took the deuce out on to his nieghbors motocross track for some mudding fun. Made it 20ft before the bumper was almost touching the ground(phone was dead so no pictures of that). Apperently we picked the spot where there was an underground creek, nice and squishy. We couldnt go forward, but the truck had no issues backing out, and had we got stuck, there was a dozer we could use to pull it out.
