Atlanta people, with MV cargo trailers

Hello,

If I were to get a small MV cargo trailer suitable for my M1009,
some day later this year, when business at work picks up,
and I start making enough money to live on again.

Would I have to register it in the state of Georgia?
And if so, how do I do it, and how much would it cost?

All I know is that I may need to go to the same tag office,
that I got my M1009 tagged and registered.

you could always register it as a home built trailer. whats what i was told i have to do here in AR

Ok, thanks for the tip. Some day when I get one, I will worry about it.
In the mean time, I guess the best thing to do is check with the tag office.

I was just wondering if anyone here in Georgia had such experience.

Can't speak for GA but in AL all utilty trailers have to be tagged.

If it is a single axle trailer you do not have to have a title...just a bill of sale or proof that it was home built. If home built you have to stamp a serial number into the frame.

When you are ready Derek of TaylorTradingCompany (he is a member here) was selling the M101s (which is a good trailer to pull behind your truck) for a decent price.

In Georgia you won't apply for a title for the trailer. You will register is as a military trailer using the model of the trailer. You will also need the manufacturer's name and year of manufacture. The 'paid in full' invoice from GL will work or if you purchased it from an individual, a simple bill of sale. You will have no problems registering your trailer in Georgia.
