The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado had the largest turnout of vehicles, tarilers and display items ever for an event at the 2010 Colorado Sport International Airshow held just northwest of Denver (Aug 28,29). We had an encampment of over 50 units with half the members camping out in their vehicles or military tents for the weekend. They had us set up right next to an active taxiway and had to move a couple of the bigger rigs to get this C-130 to its parking spot. We served meals from our fully equiped kitchen trailer and had a mister system (water spray) set up off the club's water buffalo to cool off the crowd. Great time out there had by all. Lots of pictures to follow.

more. Some of these show the huge crowds we had come through our area. Provided for great exposure and education of what this hobby is all about.

Our member's immaculate V100 and a picture of an USAF enlistment by the C-130. They had to borrow a US flag from the club. We tend to have plenty flying in our area.

I would like to add, photos 4,5,6 in the first set, are photos of Club Members watching a movie being projected on the side of 70Deuce's 38' Semi-Trailer. Friday night we watched Dr. Strangelove (very airshow appropriate) and Saturday night was the first Rat Patrol (from the series) followed by Good Morning Vietnam, very appropriate for the vintage of vehicles we fielded. We even had popcorn and Junior Mints for snacking. I will echo 70Deuce's comments, and also say a great time was had by all.

I would like to also add that a huge thank you is in order for our womens auxilliary who worked their butts off feeding us, selling t-shirts, doing food and drink runs and cleaning up after us . Fantastic effort by them and much appreciated during some trying times with the huge crowds and high temps we had at this event.

I knew you would see this and start crying.
You and your family really should come back here.
We had a great weekend at this event and the number
of vehicles sitting there all weekend was amazing.
Really good organization by the officers of the club too,
to create a great event. Lots of fun.

That right there would make the trip worth while.

What a great turnout and wonderful MV's. [thumbzup]

From one Club? Pretty hard to beat just over 50 vehicles at one show from one Club.
If we are going to count coup, I think one thermonuclear bomb ought to be worth a couple hundred tactical support MV's or 50 or so combat vehicles. (I'll see your 5 deuces and raise you one Cage, one Sherman, one Stuart and a functioning MKT trailer.);-)
