There are several threads on here about converting to all 12 volt. You will need to find a civi 12 volt starter. Everything else will be changing where a few wires go. Very easy to do.

However, you won't be able to jump another mv off or be jumped off. I would suggest a single 27si alternator and both batteries wired in parallel.

There really isn't that much stuff that is 24v.

Here is a breif recap:

change the battery wiring - (are you removing a battery?)
change out the starter
remove resistor from the volt meter
remove/bypass the GP resistor pack
change the wiring for the alternators
change out an alternator with a regular 12v
remove the voltage regulator

There is a company that does this on 1008s and 1009s for Fire Departments. I can't think of the name right now. Rosco....something.

Here is another post that covers it

Just remember, if you do make changes and have issues, not many people will be able to help diagnose the problem.

Good luck, Mr Phelps.......................

You would need the underhood and in cab harness, to use the other trucks harness.

It would be easier to modify what you have, if you want to go to 12 volts.
