Well I went up to jersey yesterday to look at some deuces that George (gem1410) had for sale and I found the perfect one for me. He asked 4600 for it so I gave him 2000 to hold it for me till December when I'll have the rest of the money available to purchase it from him (pics and a short walkaround wideo to follow on or about Monday) here's the low down on it:
1971 Jeep Corp M35a2 wo/w soft top
Recently rebuilt White LDT465 with a whistler
New camo paint job
Troop seats (in very good condition, dropped them down and took a seat)
Very minimal rust, all of which was just surface, no cancer
Like new (85% or better) michelan (sp?) super singles, 11x20 if memory serves me, forgot to write it down, lol
Interior in exelent condition, seats are perfect and very cushy
All gauges work properly
Front bumper step
Starts right up when you touch the button
No holes in the exhaust
Dash and frame numbers match (deffinate plus)
Only little thing I found wrong was an EXTREMELY negligable air leak at the passenger rear glad-hand, easy fix, probly only needs a new seal
He's also throwing in a brand new desert tan soft top, which I'll just rattle can to match the rest of the truck.
It has a clean Florida title and he said when I come to pick it up in December he'll take me out on the road and get me familiar with it before sending me on my merry way back to Delaware.
All in all a very good experience, was nice to finally meet someone off the site and get to know the truck, he was very helpful and had a decent amount of trucks there to look at, but this one just sucked me right in. I would deffinatly recommend him to anyone in the Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey area looking to buy a deuce, weathe it's your first or your just adding to the collection.
I'd like to hear anyones opinions or suggestions if you have any
I've been bitten by the OD Iron bug and I won't be searching forthe cure, I like it
