I want to go back to '66 aka RETRO Deuce!

Incoming deuce is a 1966 Kaiser/Jeep M35.

Its currently up to what I can only assume is the lastest specs.

I would like to take the thing back to the condition it was in in 1966 (dad was in 'Nam for 66-67) so this is kinda my tribute to him.

Are there any significant issues to doing this? What upgrades were done over the years that I can undo without major hassle (ie not swapping an engine, etc)

Are there any publications that cover the deuce of this era?

If you dont want to change the engine( I wouldnt either) re route the exaust like it suppose to be, put the old school mirriors on , etc, etc. That threads a good one.

GL said mine was a 66, the SF-97 said it was a 70 and CARNAC said it was a 68. All the same to me...

You could narrow it down by comparing your VIN # with others, assuming they are indeed sequential. If it was me, I would trust Carnac.

Most of the links were very general. Whats up with the exhaust reroute? Can I take the turbo off and still have a decent running motor?

I guess the mirrors are gonna have to be bought, as are the 'proper' lights... the kinda look like the WWII lights I have now.
