Who could be sure that anything is still stock even if there were differences between the years?!?! These trucks have been in military inventory for 25 or so years and have been worked on numerous times. I would not worry about the year and try to find the cleanest example I could locate (notice that I did not say anything about mileage...guys get too caught up in mileage when speedometers could have been changed/replaced by the military). I have never noticed a difference performance-wise (except the one that was repowered with a NA 6.5L).

if anyone is interested i would like to know the last 86 m1009 produced . i have seen serial numbers of 205000 and above. example, my 86 vin was 1g8ed18jxgf 205xxx. anyone have an 86 serial above that one?? thanks. mark

Look at the date it was made, that should at least give you an idea how long after yours they still made 86's.
