Looks like they are finding new ways to damage equipment this engine has nine hours on it what a shame funny how it always happens to a newer engine as opposed to a old worn out one.. Looks like it was being shoved up onto a trailer for transport or the front end was being picked up to move it around the yard.

I saw that in the listing, there was another one not long ago with a similar injury. Hard to understand, it is not like they are short on the proper equipment. Glen

The more I look at it seems to be a classic case of the forklift operator picking the truck from the bumper to manuver the truck into a line of others when the truck stopped and the forklift didnt.

I saw that browsing last week. Made me very angry to see a perfectly good engine damaged like that.

I wonder if the oil had been properly drained prior to the damage, or if they made a mess on the lot and dealt with that appropriately. My local GL guy is always concerned about fluid spillage in his lot(rightfully so).

The lots that I have been on, the GL guys are careful. It is the DRMO guys that are the forklift hacks.
Your right Greg most are careful with things being loaded out and I think thats why GL is backing away from giving people assistance in certain places they take the rap for others mistakes.

What a WASTE! As a heavy equipment operator that kind of careless sh**t just GAULS ME! California-OSHA has certification laws for certain eqipment, especially forklifts. But that still won't prevent hacks from running them unless management doesn't care what gets damaged and in this case, they CLEARLY DON'T.

Pardon me for yelling, but don't most states require some kind of certification to operate forklifts?

What was this vehicle? A CUCV? And would this be an easy repair, or is the engine trash now?
No it's a M35. Looks like needs new oil pan, and possibly new oil pump. Also need to replace the crushed copper tubing section. There may be some other damage that is not in the photo. AMG would have that fixed in less than an hour! He's a good mechanic.fat lady sings
