last night as i was going to maggianos in my m1009 i lost all the lights. went in to grab my chicken parm from take-out and when i started her back up there were no headlights, riding lights, turn signals, brake lights, or horn. convoy lights worked but as it turns out they dont work as well in rush hour traffic. i really would like to avoid doing exploratory surgery on the dash. hoping someone else has had a similar problem/fix. it did this once before but only for about 90 seconds then came back. out for good now. where do i start? and yes i know how to operate the blackout!
Thanks

Have you checked the B/O light switch to make sure you didn't bump it when getting your food? That's the first place I look when I have light problems.

Maggianos is real good!

Check your service drive light switch first, then ditto on the troubleshooting section in the TMs

guess its not so bad ripping it apart. looks like its the service light switch. no power coming off it in the on position. any ideas as to the amperage of this switch? dont have a meter to test it but have a 15 or maybe 20amp 3 way toggle around here somewhere. would that work to replace it with?

As Tlauden said check you ground connections. Also, make sure the connector on the back of the service light switch is threaded in all the way.If this is not a daily driver and it could sit a little, don't tear apart the wiring, pull the service light switch and take it apart (carefully) and clean the contacts inside. That's if you're sure it's the switch. Or if you could try another switch.

Is there power going in to the headlight switch? New switches only cost about $20, standard item.

Please capitalize the first letter in each first word of a sentence. It's the world standard, and sadly it is also a site rule to use capitalization, punctuation, and proper grammar.

Don't flame me for this, but at the end of your sentence about the world standard, it SHOULD be-
