The last Deuce's in service

Well I finally decided I have alot of crap to move. I asked, a certain someone, awhile ago to look into the last deuce serial numbers to see if I could track one down from a collector standpoint to have the "last" of that type. I finally came to the conclusion that I prolly don't need an another to move at this point in my life. So here is what we found, hopefully it benefits one of you guys and I didn't press the wrong button.

There is still an M37 on the books at Fort Benning...they use it for "Pass and Review" when they have a Post Change of Command Ceremony.

When I was there in 2007 there were several deuces scattered around post in static mode. They were being used for training to teach soldiers how to mount and dismount. They had been reconfigured to where the troop seats were mounted in the middle of the bed facing out.

There may also be a bunch out on the ranges as targets as static displays.

When I was stationed there in th 80's we recovered a lot of M715's, M151's, Gamma Goats and other vehicles from training areas and hauled them to DRMO.

It may be possible that a couple of deuces slip thru the cracks the same way.

I drive by Creech AFB here alot, and the Airforce is still using A2's you can see them from the freeway.

There are optional double-row seats for deuces and 5-tons that fit in the middle for the purpose of doubling the troop-carrying capacity. I have seen several deuces fitted out that way, but all still with active Army.

My daughter works at Fort Gillem in Forest Park, GA and the Army is still using deuces at that facility. I see them running around quite often.

That's what I would assume. The list has the highest S/N of that particular NSN truck. And no, I am not saying these are the last 6 trucks in the inventory.

How about the first of the M35A3 series?

#500001 is configured as a w/o w "C". It is now owned by a local church and will likely go on the market in the next couple of months.

It looks like the M36A3s didn't get a separate serial number run but were included with the M35A3s. Anyone know for sure? AmGeneral is pretty tight with it's information. Ron
