I am submitting a SF97 for a Duece and was wondering what I should put for empty and gross weight can anyone help me? Thanks Steve
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
My A3 without winch tipped the scales at 14,100 without driver and full fuel load. Had to get a weight ticket to register it in Cali. Had to be violated in the rear ($$) for the weight fee because an A3 is too new to be registered as a 'hysterical' vehicle.
Who made it, makes no difference. Need the model of the truck and with winch or not.Mine is a 1971 General Products Division.
This is correct. Go to JATONKA's site download the 9-2320-209-10-1. It is table 2-1 page 2-22. It shows with winch weights, you deduct 500 pounds for not having the winch. It also covers dimensions and bridge numbers. It's all there in black and white all it takes is 30 seconds to look for it.here is the information from the manual. The previous post is not correct for a 6x6 deuce. You can add about 600 pounds to the empty weight for a deuce with a winch, but the gross is still roughly the same.
This is straight out of the TM 9- 2320-209-10-1

Register the GVW as the weight of the vehicle plus what you think will be it's largest 'normal' payload (IE, something less than the military on-road gross weight). I made the mistake of registering my first truck for the full 24,700 pound weight. Rest are listed for their weight and 2,000 pounds of cargo, and the tags are about $100 a truck cheaper, every year! YMMV depending on your state.
Not all military manuals give the same information. The data plates in the trucks are sometimes different also. The 361-10 has a weight chart with the added notation to subtract 520 lbs for no winch. The 209-10 list an empty weight for my M342a2 w/w as 15,500 and the 361-10 list it as 15,775.This is correct. Go to JATONKA's site download the 9-2320-209-10-1. It is table 2-1 page 2-22.
