Hello,

Ok...My Drivers window on my Duce only rolls down a quarter of the way. I took the lower panel off the door to access the requlator. Well the regulator doesn't come down to where I can get to it. Any Ideas on how to get that DARN thing out of there?

Let me ask a silly question. Did you try this with the door open or closed?

I thought that I had window crank problems because the window would barely roll down then stop.

But then I realized that when the door is open it rolls up and down just fine.

The window was catching the side of the hard top at an awkward angle.

Just a thought.

It is an epidemic, on one of mine the Passengers side will barely come up or down, think I'm going to break it everttime i touch it. Took the panel off and the regulator and window look like they are BRAND NEW. Tryed bending , lubricating, dinking with everything I could see or think of but I don't know what I am doing an nothing worked. Yes I did try to search but I'm pretty feeble at that and had no luck. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Thanks! I have tried with the door opened and closed, I have wiggled the window from side to side. If I could get to the clips that would be nice, however the window won't come down far enough....Man, putting a new tranny was easier than this...

It's the new fed NTSB safty thing. It's so kids can't jump out the window. Or is so "dates" can't jump out the windows?

Make sure that the window guides( the part that the window slides up and down in ) has'nt come apart. Its a metal channel covered in a felt material. The felt falls apart after time and can jam up the window. Or the whole guide can come loose from the door frame.:)

You need someont with a LONG SKINNY ARM TO REACH UP THERE and FEEL AROUND! I would bet that one of the window clips fell off! Or take a bright light, and mirror, and look up there! DO NOT FORCE THE WINDOW DOWN, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A NEW WINDOW!

Mine was the same way, one of the clips came off the bottom of the window. When you rolled it down the arm wold swing back and bind it up. I rolled the window up, took out all the screws, then lowered the assembly to take the regulator loose from the good clip. Then you can remove everything, straighted the arm that got bent by trying to force the window down, straighten everything out, next look in the inside bottom of the door. My clip was still in there, just fell out. Reassemble everthing, which is pretty hard if you don't have a long thin arm. It can be done, just scratches and frustrates the daylights out of you. Be patient, stick with it, it will be as good as new. Mine has been fine for over a year now, after you do it the first time, it will be easier when the other side does the same thing! GOOD LUCK.

Pretty good description of what happened to me some time ago... After getting it apart and back together again with a new clip, it's worked fine! I still have not replaced the little panel... makes a nice cubby to put my oil check rag and flashlight...[thumbzup]

If you really want this to be a fun project, try doing it right after you had the bright idea that spraying the inside of the door with undercoating would help sound-proof and rust-proof everything. That da** undercoating is a pain to get off your skin.

I had the same problem. The rear tab that holds the glass in place had come loose. The screw backed out and the tab jambed on the rail. It took a mirror and a long screw driver to wiork it loose....just a thought.
