8" lift and 395 (46") tires

Well everyone that has lifted the deuce has gone big with tires. Here are some pics of an 8" lift and 395/85R20 46" tires.

The bobber match up shows the same size tires on each deuce.

The deuce/5 ton match up also shows the same tire size on each truck. The deuce with the 8" lift is the same height and has the same tire clearance as the 5 ton.

I dont know if i like it or not, I hate tucked tires but i think 48's would be more well suited. It remindes me of the old FWD's which where AWSOME!!!!!

Yes it looks better but the driveability is lost with the 52s. The three tires lined up are 1600, 1400 and 395. I think that the 1400s (49) provide the best driveability /looks combo. The 52s are simply too big and heavy.

J, not trying to jack your thread but im gonna bob one of mine and i have 1600's. You say the drivability is lost, which parts? I have a dt466 w/alison and hf54 box that im going to slip in durring the bob. Thoughts? can we have some steering pics? Has anyone done crossover? thanks.

Steering is full hydro. I have some PSC kits for sale if you need one.

The cross brace is installed. Look at the mounts and see the holes for the X brace. Just did not have it on when these were taken.

Does it feel tipsy now with the lift? did you get the shocks on there to? I think it would be nicer with the 14.00s .The 395s look kind of small on there.:driver:

Need to add

I need to add that the wheels we make give the truck a wider stance that than HEMTT wheels or standard wheels. I am sure this helps with the stability.

Looks great!! I like the thought of 395's on my 6x6 but think they look a little squatty. I was thinking of something in between stock and something like yours.

Useful link to Michelin tire size comparisons. You will note that a 15.5 XL is only a .1" wider than a 395 XML and .1" shorter.
The 395 is rated for 55 mph vs 50 for the XL in that size comparison.

The 1400 is 2.8" taller but .3" narrower than a 395 in the XML's.

see I feel the exact opposite, I dont have a deuce, but I really like the look of this one, Im thinking when I get mine like 5 or 6" of lift with 395s after seeing this one

11echo... who is your buddy? I have five new 365/80R20 Michelin XZL tires available. They are not surplus tires (paid retail) so they are not cheap. Contact off line if you are interested.

I agree that +4" and 395s will be a good looking truck.
