Yes I am sick, I bought another truck, This one is a good one though. I had a lot of trouble getting it here, add in the fact the company that picked it up for me used a 64 foot lowboy. Can you say overkill ?

It came from by Atlantic city, it cost more than I paid to move it, but I am going to restore it right next to my 1967 M35A2. I want to finish both before July.

I would have loved to used my ex Air force International 1650 but the guy where the truck was at would not wait. I was forced to use a local company that hit me more than a grand to bring it here.

I get married 9-10-11 so I know I will not be able to do it after, most of my projects will be on hold.

My friends think I am nuts because I currently drive an old Jeep around, I just love the simple ease of operation.

I cannot see why people cannot just love the simple elegance of these trucks.

The truck is good shape but the cab is shot, I will be searching for one, along with tires but otherwise its in good shape.

I will also have a title issue, its titled as a 5000 pound GVW pickup truck.

But this is the truck I have been searching for , I have been looking for a complete M211 since I was 24 years old and saw one in Guam pull a Russian Zil131 across a runway, I am 41 now and finally got one.

Lets keep these trucks alive, so that people will always see these great trucks on the road.

You have to admit, the front looks 100 times better than the M35, its hood system is also a pleasure to use. It holds the hood in two positions as I found out today.

Thanks,

Yes I have several and I posted last year a video of it digging , not sure how to find it on the site again but here it is on my face book page. Login | Facebook

Or Login | Facebook .

If that does not work, try finding Chris Roberts on face book and request me, I will add you so you can see it. Its something else, very powerful and heavy.

Its a rare one, I don"t think anybody on this site has seen one before.

I got some of the story on it, apparently from what I found out it may be a last survivor of its type. There was one other one mounted on a M45 Reo but some ******* used equipment dealer cut it off with a torch and put it on a cane carrier truck.

Its like the M211 I just got but, there is a double frame, two extra springs in the pack, a secondary transmission cooler and what looks like sub frame in the rear holding the turntable of the excavator. Total Weight around 44,500 pounds. And somehow its still a Deuce and a Half ? I never figured that one out.

I will see if I can post some more in the morning.

I forgot to tell everyone, there is another M211 locally in a scrap yard. it's missing a lot , but a lot is there. A place called EZ pull in Scranton. I think I can buy it out of there by what they would get paid for the weight.

XM211 Excavator

Its a HY Hoe back hoe company excavator. From what I found out they basically went out of business sometime in the early 1970s

They had these units mounted on trucks and some were tracked.

I had found photos of one mounted on an old International, but the photo was from 1962. It has some power, but its turntable system stinks, its chain driven by a push pull system of two hydraulic cylinders. If there is any leakage in the valves as I found out they fight each other and snap the chain.

Wow, 44k pounds? I had heard the old GMC's were built beefier than the M35's but dang! I have heard of guys loading up to 22,000 in gravel, etc in their GMC's with no problems. I don't see why they were classified as 2 1/2 Ton trucks.
