THE Trailer this is sitting on was a temp fix, unit weights 20,000 lbs. I have looked Hi and low for a military container trailer. The problem is the unit is 9' tall instead of the normal 8'. Once on the proper trailer the total max height must not exceed 13'6" to travel anywhere in the USA. It is a $2000.00 TICKET In Michigan if I am over height by 1"

Does anyone know of a low boy for sale..?

I appreciate your help but I thought you could not use a dolly for transport accross the country. Thanks for your input though.

Why not stretch a 989A1 trailer, this is a drop center full 2 axle trailer, it is designed to haul ammo behind a hemmt

Anywhere you want to go road or limited crosscountry, Full air brakes.

Likely could modify a M1022 but more work due to the design.

Backing a full trailer (vs bumper hitch) is a bit of a trick.

Check the ones out down in Florida. Look about the same size, but not as tall.

20' x 8' x 7' (L x W x H)

PM sent.

You could go with................a drop neck can chassis with a 9" can. OR, buy a standard 20' can which is 8'6" high. You could then put it on anything.....PLS trailer(like some of us have) a 20' can chassis, modify an M295(which I have seen the military do themselves), or any everyday flat. Weight not an issue put it on an M127(whatever variant) and have an 8' deck to walk on.

How high is that rig in your first pictures?

Doesn't look too high to me.

As rigid as a container is you could prob attach axles to it (using some steel beams to make a subframe with) and weld a tongue or kingpin plate to to it.

this is the one we drug back from Benning.
its a drop frame.
Not a "drop frame". That's a standard 40' can chassis. You can tell by the height of the frame and size of the trailer wheels/tires. That few inches of the neck that drop down to the rest of the frame sits in the recess of the can. A drop neck can chassis would have at least 14" of drop. You'll be hard pressed to find 40' drop neck chassis, though there are out there. Mostly you see drop neck units hauling 20' cans and tanks.
