I trust in god and the man who's flying that plane...

"Colombian pilots fly through storms in decrepit planes over dense forests..."

Decrepit planes? That sucker is one of the most well-built tough-as-nails airplanes ever built in world history. I've seen pictures of them come home from war missions with large sections of them blown off and they make it back.

Sounds like the narrator is missing his sack and a pair of those other things, not missing a decent plane....

Exactly what I thought, Mike, he also lost me at that point. I have a few books about the air operations in the CBI scenario (Flying the hump et al) and it is truly amazing what these aircraft could achieve. No wonder they are still flying operational these days.

The video is great though, with all that DC-3 (C-47, rather) footage!

Cheers,
Mark

Before the Huey became a "flying truck" there was the DC-3......I have never flown in one but it is on my bucket list.

I remember when I was very young my Grandmother flew to Cuba (the part we owned) to be with my Aunt during childbirth. The plane she flew on was a civ version of the DC-3.

Your list (for me) is only missing a few.

Hawker Hurricane (primarily because I was in 828 Hurricane Sqdn in Canada)
SR-71
Avro Arrow
DeHavilland Mosquito

Other than that, you pretty much named all my favorites. Especially the Catalina and the Warthog.
