Aluminum Fuel Tank ? Dents?

So I have the tank with some dents in it, is it true the tank is not the same as on a M35a2 and that its aluminum? Any recommendations on working aluminum ?

She is repairing her M35A3.

(Sorry I know nothing about the M35A3 and have a fair amount of learning to do for the M35A2C I just purchased.)

Totally different tanks on the two. The A3 is alum. and the A2 steel.

I almost bet the A3 tank is some sort of civy tank, but I just do not know.

HAha, now she COULD but thats friend down in Fl, perfect trigger disciple.
She only works on her motorcycle and 75 Chevy 4x4. Wish she was up here now, shed'd tear it apart in a weekend and have it back together for the next workday.

Yep its a M35a3, if if can score a tank cheap i would replace it but I could work metal before, just not used to aluminum. I will post some pics later today for advice. Thanks

Is this tank from the truck that just had a front tire blowout? Did you not have insurance? I'd just let the pros fix or replace it, if it were mine.(full coverage on all MVs).

Well I bought it on a Saturday and moved it, my insurance was in force but just for liability.

Thanks thats the plan, the whole transaction was a convoluted thing and required moving it off the property asap. Just the way things went down. Without the blown tire it was a good deal for $7227, truck and trailer.

depending on the "dent" and the ability of the tec a paintless dent guy may be able to fix it. I would at least try if you were close to me. Cant put a stud puller on alum. If its a big shallow dent you may be able to pull every thing apart and cap off the holes and use air pressure to "blow" it back out. but

Full coverage insurance on a 10yr+ vehicle with a value of maybe $5000??? Insurance compaines LOVE that program.

Is that with discounts from other policies?
