I have a 1967 m35a2 multifuel truck, I was told that you could burn used motor oil as a fuel source, is this true? and if so will it hurt the truck to run off of that?

Search out past threads

From what I have read the answer is yes if you have a multi fuel engine. Just don't use gas. It will destroy your engine in the long run.
Being that you are a new member, and this is your first post this has been covered many times.

There are filters, cleaners, water separators, heaters, centrifugal force separators, and a few more things to cleaning, or reclaiming used oil.

Once apon a time, a long, long time ago, people used toilet paper rolls in a stove-pipe.

Welcome to SS.

Short answer: Yes, after you filter it and mix it to thin it a bit.

The place to look is the "Alternative fuel" forum. There is more info waiting for you there than you can get from one thread. It's a common topic.

A better way to search is use the site "Steelsoldiers" as a term in a google search with whatever you're looking for. That works better for me than the forum search.

Have fun, there is a TON of info for you to go through.

Yes, you can run "alternatives" as fuel with this engine. As said already, check the forum and use the search function...lots of info here. Suggest staying away from gas, just mix with diesel and you'll be fine. Take care to keep water, anti-freeze, and alcohol out of your fuel.

I took a saddle tank off a bobtail truck and put it on a stand inside the shop. I put all the used oil in it and then it goes into 4 different filters. I mix it with red diesel and off I go. I like that I finaly have a use for old oil.Good luck, But I say (filter it as good as you can and then some)

I typically mix my WMO with gas because it's cheaper. I can't imagine there's any advantage using diesel, as the oil provides plenty of lubrication.
I guess I'd just be afraid of the heat factor if ya used very much gasoline??

LOL...so far I haven't even gotten up enough nerve to mix WMO with the diesel, but I know fellers do it without problems.aua
