I have and 84 m1008. I am getting ready to change out the lines going to the hydroboost from the power steering pump. My question is when I change out the lines do I have to bleed the brakes? I know I have to bleed the power steering pump.

Two completely separate systems. No brake bleeding required.

no hydro boost is part of the power steering system brakes are still separate.
You misread my earlier reply. To clarify:

The hydroboost is powered by the PS pump and they share the same fluid.

However, the brake master cylinder and the Hydroboost unit are two completely separate components and two completely separate hyd systems. The only thing connecting them together is two threaded studs with two nuts and a little pushrod (Heads up if you ever replace a HB - there's also a spring and a star shaped clip that likes to go flying across the driveway when you try to remove it from your HB, and nobody sells that darn clip so don't lose it if you ever have to replace your HB)

No fluid flows between the Hydroboost and the brake MC - once again, they are completely separate systems. Therefore, no brake bleeding is necessary if all you are doing is changing out the lines to the hydroboost and not messing with any of the brake lines that are on the master cylinder.

Happy now Cucvnut?

I was not saying no to you matt I was saying no to the op. But I already know what you tried to explain.

Also don't be so quick to judge or assume things like how you thought I was talking to you. Did I quote your text no I did not.
