    New to me MEP-803a

61.5hz unloaded is the standard setting.

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

I'm getting my "temporary" batteries setup so I can demo my Chevy Volt cells and get ready to assemble the new LiPo ones. Yours look remarkably like the Jakiper ones that I have.

    MEP-802A battery

Could you use some plastidip on some uncoated ones?

How to wire a power panel right to my mep 803a generator

The most important thing is to get the generator electrically well bonded to the chassis of any vehicle it’s mounted to.

How to wire a power panel right to my mep 803a generator

Lugs 1 and 3 are your hots in 240/120v mode. N and G are labeled. If you are using a panel that bonds the neutral and ground together, remove the bonding strap inside the terminal compartment.

What issues are you having? Has the unit ever worked correctly?

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

The new batteries for my system arrived today. 45kw/h in total. Each box is around 70lbs. Not fun to carry in the house! Next thing is to get them all opened up and tested before the return window closes in a few days.

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

I don't have the EG4 but I expect it is the same as most hybrid inverters where the same silicon that does the inverting also does the charging. Since they can only direct power in one direction at a time, when charging, the generator needs to be able to carry the load of the structure plus the...

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

I had considered mentioning that. I've experienced that with my off grid setup. Since most of my loads are single phase, any single phase pass through current dramatically reduces charging power. I have one of the chargeverters and it works great. My only complaint is the SERIOUS fan noise...

    Mep 802a

That is NOT the correct part number for S14. As noted before, its not a relay even though it fits the same base. Order the correct part from @kloppk and go from there. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-802a-mep-803a-s14-frequency-trip-switch-5930-01-396-2940-88-21091.200402/

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

According to one of the spec sheets I grabbed, the charging power is 200a which is around 10kw. That would be a good fit for a MEP803. Maybe the OP can let us know if this is the correct info for the model he has...

Not quite a generator, but my 803 is part of it soon...

I should be getting 48, 314ah cells this week to switch out with my aging chevy volt packs. Not looking forward to tearing everything apart and rebuilding it but on the plus side, I should be in good shape for a long time.

Once you get a chance to peak at the TMs, take photos of the unit and post them up for us to check out.

Am I a victim of foul play or incompetence? LOL.

And it’s also completely typical. We’ve all wrestled with those things.
